Nick
Arriving 8/5/2017
8/29/2017: Nick is a little shy when you first meet him, but warms up after he learns to trust you. He's afraid of any new situations, but with reassurance, can get through it. Once he feels comfortable, he's such a "puppy" and full of energy. He will run around the house playing with toys and loves to run in the yard, and if you're lucky you might get a kiss. He rides well in the car, crates with no problems, walks well with another grey to guide him, and gets along with my two greys and kitties.
If you have a lot of patience to earn his trust, he will make an excellent companion.
3/9/2018:
Nick recently moved to a new foster home to see how he would do in a new situation. Nick is a very sweet and loving gentleman. He would make an excellent companion for a retired lady as he doesn’t jump and isn’t overly active in the house or would be a great additional dog in a quiet home. And he’s even cat safe!
He does great on stairs and hardwood floors. He has not tried to get on furniture in my home. He did have to be invited onto the dog beds as he started out choosing to lie behind the sofa. He eats well and has not had an accident in my home. He has quickly adapted to our routine. He has a stunning thick black coat and one of the biggest fluffiest tails I have ever seen on a greyhound that wags when he’s happy and comfortable. Nick is shy and unsure of new people especially men, but once he decides to trust you, he is incredibly devoted. He comes over for attention now that he’s gotten to know me. And he loves attention. He gazes at me with the sweetest eyes. I’m not much of a singer, but he doesn’t care and loves it when I sing to him and pet him. There is nothing like winning the love and trust of a shy dog. If you have a quiet home, please give him a chance. He will love you the way only a shy devoted greyhound can.
