50th Annual Indianapolis Flower and Patio Show

Where:	Indiana State Fairgrounds, Indianapolis
Additional Information:	'A Red Carpet Affair' is the theme for this year's 50th Annual Flower and Patio show, which features over 450 exhibitors and 28 gardens, inspired by movie classics.   This event attracts over 100,000 visitors, many of whom stop by our booth to visit and learn about greyhound adoption.   This is the biggest show we participate in, and many volunteers are needed! Dirty Dogs 'N Suds
When:	Saturday, April 12, 2008; 10am - 4pm
Where:	Healthy Hounds, 9809 Fall Creek Road, Indianapolis, IN 46256
Additional Information:	Time for spring cleaning and that includes your hounds! Tom Kortie and his rescued racers, Hanna and Owen, proprietors of Healthy Hounds, are generously opening their door and bath tubs to benefit GPA Indianapolis. GPA volunteers will wash and dry dogs (any breed) for $10.00 and ALL proceeds go to GPA. Of course, donations are gladly accepted! Healthy Hounds' 'hydrosurge' bathing system provides your dog with a soothing massage, while you shop a store filled with Holistic food, a dog bakery, pet necessities AND indulgences, toys, fashions, and greyt things for you, too. Greyhound Stress Reduction

Where:	Schwitzer Student Center, University of Indianapolis, 1400 E. Hanna Ave, Indianapolis, IN
Additional Information:	Here's a chance for us to help some two-legged Greyhounds for a change! Coinciding with finals week, the Student Counseling Dept. of U of I, has asked GPA Indy to bring our four legged greyhounds to provide some much needed stress relief for their students. 2008 Earth Day Indiana Festival
When:	Saturday, April 26, 2008, 11am - 4pm
Where:	American Legion Mall, (at North Street, between N. Meridian and N. Pennsylvania) Indianapolis, IN
Additional Information:	This event is one of the nation's largest Earth Day festivals, featuring over 100 exhibits, live music, children's activities, and good food. Earth Day Indiana is the first free outdoor festival of the year in Indianapolis, and attracted over 20,000 visitors in 2007. Help us 'recycle' hounds into retirement by volunteering! 2008 Petfest Spring Adoption Day The Pet Fest event has been cancelled

Additional Information:	The Spring Pet Fest event has been cancelled by the event organizers. They usually have a Fall event as well, so keep an eye out this fall for potential volunteer opportunities for Pet Fest.

Petsmart National Spring Adoption Weekend
When:	Saturday, May 3 and Sunday, May 4, 2008
Where:	Pets Mart Stores in Central Indiana, see Additional Information below for participating stores
Additional Information:	Pets Mart stores where GPA Indianapolis will be participating in this event are the Greenwood, Noblesville, West 86th Street (near 465 in Indy), and Plainfield stores. Addresses for these store locations can be found in the recurring events section on this page. Recurring Events In partnership with Petsmart Charities, Petsmart is once again hosting it's National Spring Adoption Weekend. Last year, over 1800 groups participated, and as a result, more than 14,800 pets found homes! Hours are as follows: Greenwood Petsmart, Sat., 1-4pm; Noblesville Petsmart, Sat., 1-3pm; Plainfield Petsmart, Sat., 1-4pm; and West 86th Street Petsmart, Sun., 2-4pm. University of Indianapolis Alumni Picnic

Scales and Tails Fest - A Celebration of Pets
When:	Saturday, June 7, 11am - 4pm, 2008
Where:	Indiana State Museum, 650 W. Washington Street, Indianapolis
Additional Information:	A variety of animals, including dogs, cats, miniature horses, and reptiles will be on hand for this event! You will also have the opportunity to meet veterinarians and representatives of various rescue groups and breed clubs to help determine the right pet for you. Entertainment will be provided by flying disc dogs, performances by Silly Safari, and take home crafts round out the day! Heartland Crossing Community Day
When:	Saturday, June 28, 11am - 3pm, 2008
Where:	Heartland Crossing Clubhouse, Camby, IN
Additional Information:	Heartland Crossing is a H-U-G-E community of over 2200 homes and has the distinction of having residences in 3 counties! This year's Community Day features many non-profit exhibitors including firefighters, EMS, the Lifeline helicoptor, hospitals, and of course, our greyhounds!
